2018 Polar Bear Plunge

• What we’ll do
Join the Annapolis Jaycees’ team at the 2018 Polar Bear Plunge benefiting over 7,500 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland. To join our team or to make a donation, please visit: http://somd.convio.net/goto/AnnapolisJaycees In order to take your place on the beach to participate in the plunge, individuals must fundraise at least $75. When you create an account and join our team, your account has many great tools to help you fundraise! In addition to the plunge, there is entertainment, vendors and fun all afternoon. Downing of the Browns

• What we’ll do
The follow up to Hanging of the Greens is taking down all the holiday decorations as we like to call it “Downing of the Browns.” This year we will be working with Annapolis Green again to recycle the greens and lights. We will all go to lunch afterwards and celebrate a job well done.

• What to bring
Warm clothes, gloves and a ladder if you have one.

College Creek Clean up

Join the Jaycees and the Annapolis Trash Coalition in an effort to clean up the college Creek area. Park and meet at the State Archives, have a bagel and then walk to the site. For two hours, we will work to beautify the area and finish up right before lunch! Please join us for this brief but impactful event!

Haunted Bingo Night – support the Chespeake Bay!

The Jaycees will be volunteering to assist the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center with their annual Haunted Bingo fundraiser. And there are so many ways to help!

1) Volunteer to assist with game play, set up, or food sales

2) Donate bottles of wine, prizes, or candy

3) Play Bingo! Dont want to volunteer?
No problem! Come for a night out and win prizes while having fun with friends old and new.

Annapolis Tug of War – Join our team!

Volunteer for Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Anne Arundel County’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is in need of volunteers to help with setup, event activities, parking, greeters, cheerleaders along walk route, and breakdown

Volunteers will meet at City Dock at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 22. Please join us as we support this great cause! If you cannot stay for the duration of the event, please comment with your availability. Schedule:

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Set-up
10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Event Assignment (one of the duties listed above)
2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Breakdown

Hanging of the Greens

Join us as we decorate downtown Annapolis for the Holiday season. It is an annual tradition for the Jaycees of Annapolis to decorate storefronts of local downtown businesses with lighted garland and wreaths. We separate into teams and work together to hang greens that will light up Annapolis at night. A secret party location is revealed to all who help to celebrate at the end of the day.

PARKING AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The Bladen Street Garage is free on weekends and the garage on King George will also be free for 9 hours, so either of them are good options!

Make sure to dress warmly, bring/wear gloves because you will be handling fresh greenery and nails/wires! Don’t forget hats and other warm clothing, as well as any beverages of your choice to keep you warm throughout the day!

We will also have pizzas provided by Mangia downtown mid-day!
