Project Clean Stream

Project Clean Stream along with the Back Creek Conservancy is hosting an event on April 1, 2017 starting at 9:00am at Back Creek in Annapolis to clean up trash and remove invasive plants in and around the waterfront.

From the Back Creek Conservancy:

– Bring gloves

– Trash bags, zones, and direction will be provided

If you would like to join us on April 1, please RSVP for the event as soon as possible.

Community Clean Up

We will be partnering with local agencies to assist in cleaning up abandoned homeless encampments. We will meet at 9:00 AM at which time we will be given direction and site assignments. 

Lunch will be provided to all participants.

Winter Relief – Cooking Dinner

Come join us as we participate in the Anne Arundel County Winter Relief program, an extension of the Annapolis Lighthouse Shelter and Arundel House of Hope. It involves cooking dinner, serving guests, and cleaning up. It’s a great time and a rewarding experience helping the homeless in the Annapolis area.

Time: Dinner Prep starts at 5:00 pm, serving begins at 6:00, and we should be done by 7:00

Naval Academy Special Olympics – Track and Field

We are all very excited to co-host the 49th Annual Anne Arundel County Special Olympics Spring Games at the US Naval Academy. The Annapolis Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) would not be able to put this event on without your help.

Please indicate which shift you are available for, Sunday morning 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or Sunday afternoon 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.. 

Breakfast refreshments and lunch are provided. 

Dress comfortably and pay attention to the weather.  You may also want to dress in layers as the field is on the water and can be colder than expected during the morning hours.

Access to the Naval Academy – You will need a government issued ID to enter the Naval Academy. Look for the Volunteer Check-in table upon arrival Ingram Field.

Parking – Due to the limited parking on campus, volunteers are asked to park outside of the Naval Academy and walk on through Gate 1. Free parking is available along King George Street and at the Bladen Street Garage located near St. Johns College. A map will be sent closer to the event.

Dress comfortably, we will be at the indoor pool which gets warm throughout the day.

Access to the Naval Academy – You will need a government issued ID to enter the Naval Academy. Look for the Volunteer Check-in table upon arrival to Scott Natatorium/Macdonough Hall

Cooking Dinner at the Lighthouse Shelter

Come help cook dinner at the Lighthouse Shelter. It involves cooking the food, serving guests, and cleaning up a bit. Dinner prep starts at 4:45, serving begins at 6:00, and we are done before 7:00. It’s a great time and a rewarding experience.
